How to make Mutter Paneer



Ingredients for Mutter Paneer:

  • Green Peas - 1 Cup
  • 1 Cup Paneer Cubes
  • 1 medium chopped onion
  • 2 large tomatoes (finally chopped)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Cloves (laung) - 2
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin (jeera) seeds
  • 1/4 tbsp mustard (raai) seeds
  • 1/4 inch Ginger grated
  • Garlic cloves (3 to 4)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt (As per taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric(haldi) powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon coriander(dhaniya) powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin(jeera) powder
  • Cilantro leaves - chopped

How to make Mutter Paneer at home:

First boil the green peas in a cup of water and a pinch of sugar. Cook till it becomes little soft and then keep aside in a plate. Now take a pan and heat oil on medium flame.

Add paneer cubes and fry till it turns soft and light golden brown. This will happen real quick. Remove it and keep aside in a separate plate or bowl. To prepare the gravy part, put some oil in the pan and heat it.

Add cloves, cumin seeds until it changes color and sputter. Add chopped onions, ginger and garlic. Saute until the onion becomes golden brown. Add chopped tomatoes, sugar, salt and cook till the tomatoes are soften. Now add chilly powder, garam masala, turmeric (Haldi) powder, coriander(Dhaniya) powder and cumin (Jeera) powder. Add some water as per your gravy thickness choice and stir it for 5 to 6 mins. Add peas and paneer cubes and let it simmer for few (7 to 8) minutes.

Finally garnish with chopped cilantro leaves. Mutter paneer is ready to serve with rice, chapati or paranthas.

Mutter paneer is good for health because of green peas nutrient contents.
